About this role

Optum is a global organization that delivers care, aided by technology to help millions of people live healthier lives. The work you do with our team will directly improve health outcomes by connecting people with the care, pharmacy benefits, data and resources they need to feel their best. Here, you will find a culture guided by inclusion, talented peers, comprehensive benefits and career development opportunities. Come make an impact on the communities we serve as you help us advance health optimization on a global scale. Join us to start Caring. Connecting. Growing together.

This offshore Program Manager role supports the Content Program Management Lead to run Optum Rx’s end-to-end content operating system across Thought Leadership, Events/Executive Engagement, Digital/Social, and Direct Marketing. The Program Manager coordinates planning, delivery, governance, and reporting so cross-functional teams can execute predictably and compliantly for the US business, while leveraging asynchronous workflows and structured overlap for decisions.

Own day-to-day program execution across channels—managing intake, prioritization, timelines, approvals, and issue tracking—while enforcing standards (brand, accessibility, HIPAA) and ensuring clean handoffs among content managers, creative, campaigns, and Compliance/Legal.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Run weekly ceremonies (intake, prioritization, status reviews), maintain program plans, RAID logs, and stage-gate checklists; escalate risks with data and options
  • Coordinate cross-channel calendars and capacity, aligning Thought Leadership, Events, Digital/Social, and Direct milestones with downstream activation
  • Steward governance in motion: taxonomy/metadata application, version control, accessibility checks, compliance approvals, and audit trail completeness
  • Operationalize AI-enabled workflows (brief templates, outline generation, variant creation, QC prompts) under Responsible AI guardrails with human review
  • Partner with creative studio and agencies on briefs, SLAs, and delivery; track cycle time, defects, and rework to drive continuous improvement
  • Produce program dashboards and reports (predictability, reuse rates, compliance findings, engagement influence) and facilitate monthly/quarterly business reviews
  • Support budget tracking, vendor coordination, and resourcing allocations in partnership with the Content Program Management Lead
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience with 6–8 years in program/project management within marketing/content operations or enterprise PMO; healthcare/regulatory experience preferred
  • Hands-on experience running RACI, SLAs, stage-gates, RAID logs, and cross-team ceremonies; strong familiarity with DAM/CMS, metadata/taxonomy, and accessibility practices
  • Demonstrated discipline in compliance workflows (HIPAA-safe processes, Legal/Brand reviews) and audit-readiness
  • Practical exposure to AI in content ops with Responsible AI practices (guardrails, human oversight, documentation)
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills; comfort with KPI dashboards and executive updates

Preferred Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; certifications such as PMP, Agile/Lean, or DAM

At UnitedHealth Group, our mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone. We believe everyone-of every race, gender, sexuality, age, location and income-deserves the opportunity to live their healthiest life. Today, however, there are still far too many barriers to good health which are disproportionately experienced by people of color, historically marginalized groups and those with lower incomes. We are committed to mitigating our impact on the environment and enabling and delivering equitable care that addresses health disparities and improves health outcomes - an enterprise priority reflected in our mission.
