Financial Accounting Staff - Houston, TX - Full Time
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Lead financial reporting, settlements, and tax at Aramco Trading Company regional office. Oversee financial statement preparation, settlement operations, tax reporting, and monthly closing activities. Ensure compliance, integrity of financial data, and implement quality controls. Drive performance improvement for enhanced organizational outcomes.
Financial Reporting Oversight
- Oversee the monthly closing process ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Oversee quarterly and annual financial statement preparation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Lead external and internal audit/review engagements, including resolution of findings.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and group accounting policies.
- Review accounting of significant and unusual transactions, including preparation of accounting paper if needed.
Settlement Oversight
- Oversee the daily operations of the settlement functions, ensuring timely settlement of invoices and resolution of disputes and issues.
- Drive process improvements to improve efficiency and effectiveness of internal controls within the settlement function.
Tax Oversight
- Oversee the operations of the tax unit ensuring adherence to tax regulations.
- Review of tax reporting requirements in coordination with the Tax Law Department and external consultants.
- Collaborate with Tax Law to develop tax optimization initiatives.
Accounts Reconciliation
- Manage and guide inventory and intercompany reconciliation processes.
Quality Control Implementation
- Implement and enhance quality control measures for financial transactions and reporting.
Performance Enhancement Strategies
- Develop and execute strategies to drive performance improvement across finance functions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in processes and procedures related to financial reporting, settlements, and tax.
Strategic Alignment
- Align financial reporting, settlements, and tax strategies with broader organizational goals.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with various departments for cohesive financial operations, including trading, operations, middle office, and legal.
Technology Integration
- Implement and leverage technology solutions to enhance quality and efficiency.
Team Leadership:
- Provide strong leadership to financial reporting, settlements and tax teams for optimal performance.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education & Skills (Required, Preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional accounting certification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent).
Leadership skills.
- Excellent communication skills for effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred
- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Experience & Knowledge (Required, Preferred)
- Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial reporting roles.
- Proven experience in leading finance teams.
- Advance knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Preferred
- Previous managerial audit experience with any of the big 4 accounting firms.
- Experience with oil and gas commodity trading company.
