BAE Systems, one of the world’s leading defense contractors, is hiring a Control Systems Engineering Co-Op student for our engineering department at the Holston Army Ammunition Plant in Kingsport, TN. In this position you will be supporting the Ordnance Systems (OSI) Business at our Kingsport, TN facility. This position will be full-time (40 hours a week) onsite at our Kingsport, TN facility. Relocation may be offered, but housing is not offered.
As part of our Ordnance Systems team, you will be working alongside some of the industry's top talent on the forefront of energetics technology. We are currently hiring a Control Systems Engineer Co-Op who will be part of a group responsible for the design, implementation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of the complete system, including PLC/DCS (Distributed Control System) controls, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD's), Human Machine Interfaces (HMI’s), and associated communication networks for process control and/or monitoring applications. This position works on capital improvement projects and chemical production support at the Holston Army Ammunition Plant in Kingsport, TN.

As a Control Systems Engineering Co-Op, you will:
- Participate in a twelve-month assignment that will focus on Design / Project Engineering.
- Work with experienced engineers in designing new processes, overseeing construction, and assisting with startup and commissioning tasks.
- Be involved with common deliverables such as design documentation, PLC programming, HMI graphic designs, safety reviews, and day to day maintenance.

Required Skills and Education
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at a University with an ABET accredited Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Controls System Engineering, or Computer Science Program. May consider other engineering related or similar technical degree.
- Completed at least two semesters of college engineering coursework.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with MS Office applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
