Reports to: Restaurant Chef
Bring your passion for food to Camelback Resort! Our Cooks prepare fresh, high-quality meals while following established recipes and food safety standards. We are hiring both Prep Cooks and Line Cooks, with opportunities to work on the grill, oven, fryer, or food prep stations in a fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare food items including chopping vegetables, assembling salads, and preparing entrees.
- Set up and prepare ovens, grills, and utensils for each shift.
- Follow designated cooking methods to ensure consistency and quality of menu items.
- Receive and prepare orders from wait staff or computerized systems.
- Cook food in accordance with food health and safety standards.
- Manage multiple food orders simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Properly handle, store, and rotate food products.
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of kitchen areas, walk-in coolers, and storage spaces.
- Continuously develop cooking skills and expand knowledge of food products and techniques.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all guests.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Prior restaurant cooking experience required.
- Basic cooking skills, including knife handling.
- Basic math skills for adjusting recipe quantities.
- Flexible work schedule, including weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Strong listening, problem-solving, and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Must be able to speak and read English; additional languages a plus.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (8–10 hours per shift).
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to frequently bend, reach, stoop, and crouch.
- Ability to work safely around hot surfaces, open flames, steam, and sharp objects.
- Tolerance for hot, humid, and crowded work environments.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions (e.g., chopping, stirring, plating).
- Ability to work efficiently in a fun, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to tolerate exposure to busy or noisy work areas.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of our guests.
- Strives to learn to improve cooking skills and expand knowledge about food products and techniques.
