Position Summary

The Assistant, eCommerce Strategy + SEO plays a key role in executing digital initiatives across J.Crew’s app and website, ensuring a seamless, inspiring, and brand-right customer experience.

Reporting to the Director of eCommerce Strategy + SEO, this role owns critical operational workflows across site and app content execution while supporting broader eCommerce strategy, SEO insights, testing, and AI-enabled discovery initiatives. This position is designed as a foundational development role, building expertise in digital experience, experimentation, organic growth, and next-generation discovery tools.

 

Key Responsibilities

Content Execution & Calendar Management

 Own and manage the content calendar for J.Crew’s app and website, aligning with promotional plans, seasonal priorities, and marketing campaigns.
 Develop and deliver app content briefs in partnership with Creative, Planning, and Project Management teams to ensure timely and accurate execution.
 Execute day-to-day site and app content updates and launches.
 Conduct post-launch QA for homepage, landing pages, and promotional modules to ensure accuracy, functionality, and brand consistency.
 Coordinate timelines, deliverables, and cross-functional communications to support seamless execution.
 Partner with Site Ops, Planning, and Creative to ensure consistent storytelling across platforms.
 Align messaging across digital marketing channels (Email/SMS, Loyalty, Paid, Credit Card) to support cohesive customer journeys.
 Ensure accurate tagging of promotional levers in partnership with Analytics.
 

Performance Reporting & Site Audits

 Conduct comprehensive weekly site and app audits across navigation, search, landing pages, PDPs, and checkout experience.
 Identify content gaps, UX friction points, SEO opportunities, and conversion optimization areas.
 Develop and share weekly performance recaps highlighting key takeaways and actionable recommendations.
 Maintain trackers and dashboards related to content performance, customer engagement, and experimentation results.
 Support analysis of promotional effectiveness and content engagement to inform future planning.
 

Testing & Optimization Support

 Manage weekly A/B test intake in Airtable ahead of planning meetings, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
 Support setup, QA, and documentation of A/B and multivariate testing across site and app.
 Track and organize testing results, maintaining a centralized learning library for future reference.
 Help flag UX/UI friction points based on data, customer feedback, and performance metrics.
 Support Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) initiatives through structured documentation and follow-up analysis.
 

SEO, Tools & AI Development

 Develop strong proficiency in SEO tools and platforms (keyword research, ranking analysis, competitive insights).
 Support metadata optimization, keyword alignment, and page-level SEO enhancements.
 Assist in analyzing organic performance trends and surfacing insights to inform strategy.
 Build familiarity with AI-enabled tools that support content optimization, search trend identification, and workflow efficiency.
 Stay current on evolving search behavior, including AI-driven and generative search environments.
 Share emerging insights with the team to support forward-thinking discovery strategies.
 

Strategic & Planning Support

 Assist in building strategy documents including seasonal hindsights, business cases, competitive landscaping, and performance decks.
 Contribute data, visuals, and insights for leadership presentations and seasonal planning cycles.
 Support UX testing roadmap development and experimentation planning.
 Help refine internal process documentation and toolkits for campaign planning and promotional execution.
 

Qualifications

 0–2 years of experience in eCommerce, digital marketing, SEO, analytics, or related fields (internships included).
 Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
 Strong analytical mindset and comfort working with data and digital tools.
 Interest in SEO, digital experience, experimentation, and emerging AI technologies.
 Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to present findings clearly.
 Proactive, curious, and eager to grow within a fast-paced digital environment.
 Bachelor’s degree required.

Note: Availability of these benefits and perks may be subject to work location & employment type and may have certain eligibility requirements.

Hourly Range: $25.48 - $29.74

The base salary offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region of work premises, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.  The base salary is just one component of J.Crew Group’s competitive total rewards strategy that also includes the opportunity for bonus, competitive benefits and perks.
