The South Meridian Branch of the Treasure Valley YMCA is unlike any other in the country. Our 60,000-square-foot facility is part of a unique collaboration that combines family recreation, education, sports, literacy, and wellness care on a single campus called “The Hill.” Hand in hand with our partners—St. Luke’s Health System, the West Ada School District, and the City of Meridian—the South Meridian Family Y will help us build A BETTER US.
The Youth & Program Enrichment Coordinator is responsible for creating a safe, friendly and helpful atmosphere for members in youth programs, through supervising assigned staff and by developing and managing high-quality youth programs. This is a working supervisor position.
Schedule:
This is a full-time position at 40 hours weekly. Schedule requirements vary and may include nights and weekends.

Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and supervision of staff, including hiring, onboarding, role-modeling, and coaching, scheduling and on-going development for the following Youth Programs:
YAC
•Climbing Wall
•Family Activity Zone
•Birthday Parties
•Family Nights
•After School Enrichment Programs - Maintain staffing ratios by fulfilling frontline shifts as a working supervisor when programs are occurring a minimum of 10 hours per week prioritizing based on program needs.
- Support and provide oversight at Prime Events, including but not limited to: After School programming, Family Nights, Kids Night Out, Birthday Parties, and other Special Events, including consistent participation during evening events (4-7pm) and weekends and/or as required for business need.
- Develop, implement and grow programs as directed by Youth Director with a priority focus on After School Enrichment Programs.
- Create an environment that fosters safety through supervision and by role modeling safe behaviors.
- Develop intentional relationships and maintain effective daily communication with members, participants and parents using the Y voice attributes.
- Work closely with the Director to ensure department operations are consistent with approved Leading Practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree: related graduate degree preferred.
- Two or more years of experience in related field.
- Ability to deliver support and provide oversight across varied hours, including consistent participation during evening events (4-7pm) and weekends.
- Excellent human relations skills and an ability to maintain position communication with staff and members.
- Ability to address and make solid decision in emergency situations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including telephone etiquette and computer use.
- Prior experience of successful supervising of staff and volunteer preferred.
- Must have good interpersonal and communications skills and be sensitive, adaptable, professional, and articulate when dealing with others.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
