About this role

The Corporate Accounting internship offers comprehensive hands-on experience in the Finance and Accounting professions. Interns are engaged in supporting the Corporate Accounting team and operational partners with day-to-day processes, will gain general overall knowledge of Accounting and Finance, and gain valuable experience through team collaboration and professional development opportunities.

Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

  • Perform routine monthly accounting tasks including journal entries and account reconciliations.*
  • Review Profit and Loss (P&L) results and analyze variances to budget and forecast, primarily for divisions supported by the Corporate Accounting team.*
  • Prepare key workpapers and deliverables for engagements including annual audits.*
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses and special projects involving data gathering, analysis, validation and visualization.*
  • Collaborate with Finance and Operational partners as a team player. Meet communicated schedules and deadlines.
  • Engage in opportunities for cross-functional training and shadowing to understand various finance roles.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • At the time of internship, must be a rising Junior or Senior enrolled in undergraduate education and majoring in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field of study. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong math skills required.
  • Must be innovative and self-motivated to complete tasks.
  • Must be detail-oriented with proven organizational skills.
  • Must display a positive attitude and an eagerness to learn while still portraying the professional image that is in compliance with the Hershey Entertainment & Resorts guidelines.
  • Must be proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Office and have the ability to quickly learn computer-based applications.
  • Commitment to accuracy in daily work and other projects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with others in a fast paced, dynamic environment. Must also have the ability to work independently while conducting research and preparing data analysis to solve complex problems.
  • Must have the ability to safeguard the company’s confidential and proprietary information.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Job Demands:

  • This opportunity is available for the 2026 Summer season, beginning May through mid-August.
  • Interns are eligible to participate in professional development series offerings including networking and speaker events.
  • Must be able to work in an office environment and on a computer for long periods at a time.
  • Physical requirements include standing, bending, sitting, walking, lifting and communicating.
  • Students must be open to flexible scheduling, up to 40 hours per week.
