About the Department
The Corrections Employment and Vocational Coordinator with the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Benner Township plays a key role in preparing inmates for future success. Position Duties
This position focuses on managing inmate employment programs and supporting vocational growth through counseling, planning, and coordination. It helps ensure that inmates receive appropriate work placements, skill development opportunities, and guidance for future success. As a Corrections Employment and Vocational Coordinator, you will perform the following duties:
- Program Oversight: Manage the Inmate Employment Program and supervise staff work activities
- Work Placement: Recommend job assignments and evaluate inmate skills to create effective training plans
- Payroll Management: Administer inmate payroll systems and review time and attendance records
- Career Counseling: Provide employment-related counseling and assist with vocational and re-entry preparation
- Documentation Work: Prepare reports on inmate employment, housing data, and training progress
- Staff Coordination: Consult with supervisors and committees to support effective work assignment processes

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $59,345.00 (before taxes).

Minimum Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience as a Corrections Employment and Vocational Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Two years of para-professional experience in obtaining and evaluating vocational or employment information; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
