Position Duties
This role oversees the full educational program at SCI Fayette, ensuring staff, resources, and procedures support a strong learning environment within the correctional setting. As a Corrections School Principal, you will perform the following duties:
- Program Leadership: Guide staff, shape course planning, and direct daily educational operations
- Staff Development: Provide training, offer orientation, and support effective performance among permanent and contract employees
- Policy Management: Develop and update departmental procedures while ensuring alignment with institutional goals
- Budget Oversight: Prepare and manage the annual education budget to support program needs
- Inmate Evaluation: Review inmate educational requirements and approve or disapprove class participation changes
- Record Management: Supervise access and storage of educational documentation and ensure compliance with regulations

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Minimum Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of professional educational experience, including three years as a classroom teacher or education counselor in a public school, licensed private school, or an adult correctional education program approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes three years of professional educational experience as a classroom teacher or education counselor in a public school, licensed private school, or an adult correctional education program approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections.
Other Requirements:
- Successful completion of the training academy in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
