Job Description

We are seeking to add a new team member to our Finance Department in our New Paris, IN location. This position will report to our Plant Controller.

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for supporting the cost accounting processes of the company, to include month-end journal entries, maintenance of standard costs, inventory reconciliation, production of periodic financial reports, and adherence to internal controls.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare month-end journal entries in compliance with critical reporting deadlines. 
  • Audit, review, and maintain bill of materials and standard costing in Oracle.
  • Reconcile inventory in general ledger against the sub-ledgers.
  • Compile purchase price variance report to support supply chain and procurement departments.
  • Run reports and analyze manufacturing efficiency, volume, mix and budget variances.
  • Adhere to all appropriate financial policies such as GAAP and SOX.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities (i.e., Kaizen events) to support cost reduction initiatives.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • 1 year manufacturing cost accounting experience.
  • Knowledge and application of basic accounting procedures and cost accounting processes.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to function at a high level of effectiveness, flexibility, independence and initiative without daily interaction with management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated successful ability to build positive partnerships and work collaboratively with cross-functional business teams.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  • Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
  • Experience with ODBCs, SQL and Visual Basic.
  • AS400 query experience.
  • Prior ERP experience (Oracle, SAP).
