About this role

The Count Room Representative role involves removing and counting monies from various gaming and non-gaming revenue centers daily.  Preventive maintenance tasks are carried out as needed to ensure equipment remains functional and accurate. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Count Room Supervisor or Director  to support operational needs. 

Responsibilities

  • Picks up, secures, and transports all funds from the casino floor to the Count Room.

  • Accurately strap/bag  all counted funds daily and transfers them to the Cashier department.

  • Adheres to attendance standards and complies with all regulatory, departmental, and company policies.

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older

  • Ability to obtain a NV Gaming license

  • High school diploma or GED is required.

  • Calculator, computer skills, and currency counting equipment  skills are desired.

  • Prior count room or money handling experience (casino or bank) is preferred.

  • Must be able to work early morning hours typically 3am to 11am.

  • Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team.

  • Must present a well-groomed appearance.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to maneuver throughout all casino and count room areas.

  • Capable of responding calmly and effectively in crisis or high-stress situations, including employee conflicts.

  • Able to push and pull carts up to 75 pounds and carry up to 50 pounds of boxes filled with currency and chips. 

  • Must be able to grip objects and have good finger dexterity for counting and handling currency.

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time (6 to 7 hours). 

  • Must accurately differentiate chip denominations and verify currency authenticity.

  • Must tolerate working in environments with secondary smoke exposure.

  • Must be physically able to crawl, bend, stoop, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items as needed.

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

  • Must be able to  respond to both visual and auditory cues.

  • Desired proficiency in operating a computer, Microsoft Word and Excel, ten-key adding machine, and money counter.
