Description of Job

The Grounds Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that campus grounds maintenance  and  landscape  services  are  conducted  within  budget  and  safety  requirements;  through the  management   coordination and
supervision of the Grounds Shop staff. This position serves as a working supervisor and is required to carry out duties and responsibilities of grounds shop positions when necessary.

Prepare preventive maintenance programs, inventory control and maintenance records. Prepare and submit annual budget request for Grounds Shop. Perform grounds inspections in order to properly prepare specific action plans to ensure that campus standards are being maintained. Together with the Manager, advise and collaborate with the Capital Planning and Construction Department on implementing and monitoring of capital construction, controlled maintenance and other campus projects.

Act as the liaison between the school and the contractor providing trash services.  Report problems, send along requests and coordinate the delivery and removal of containers for special events such as move-in, move-out and E-Days.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  
 
Experience Only:
  • Three (3) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position.

  • Must be a current Classified Employee at Colorado School of Mines. 

Appeal Rights:
