Selinsgrove Center is located in a nice rural location just outside the Borough of Selinsgrove. We are only a couple of minutes from town, Selinsgrove Area Schools, and Susquehanna University.

Position Duties

This position helps maintain clean, safe, and orderly environments throughout the Selinsgrove Center. The role involves using proper cleaning tools, following safety guidelines, and completing tasks in line with established procedures. As a Custodial Worker 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • Facility Cleaning: Maintain bedrooms, bathrooms, hallways, and other areas using proper cleaning tools and techniques
  • Equipment Operation: Use mechanical cleaning equipment safely and store it correctly after use
  • Chemical Safety: Select and apply appropriate cleaning products according to guidelines and safety sheets
  • Hazard Removal: Clear entrance areas of snow, ice, and water to prevent accidents
  • Furniture Movement: Move furniture and equipment as needed to support cleaning tasks
  • Supply Requests: Request and maintain needed cleaning supplies to support daily responsibilities

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, on a rotating schedule, which includes 4 to 5 weekends per year and a 30 minute lunch.
  • Overtime and travel: As needed
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. 
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Minimum Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
Additional Requirements:

  • You must possess a valid driver’s license which is not under suspension.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
