Southern University at New Orleans, a public, historically black university, empowers and promotes the upward mobility of diverse populations of traditional and nontraditional students through academic programs, teaching, research, and service to achieve excellence in higher education using various teaching and learning modalities.
This Custodian position ensures that the campus is kept clean, safe, and orderly at all times by performing routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing. Custodians play a crucial role in maintaining a hygienic and well-kept environment, which is essential for the well-being of building occupants.Position Duties

- Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of designated areas, including restrooms, offices, and common spaces, through comprehensive sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing procedures.
- Moves, rearranges and dusts furniture and fixtures.
- Reports needs for repairs to higher-level custodians.
- Washes blinds, windows, and walls.
- Picking up trash, watering plants, etc.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: This will be filled as a Probational appointment.
Work Schedule: 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Compensation: $20,800 annually.
