About this role
Buckeye Catholic continues to grow and is looking for several part-time custodial staff. A custodian ensures the cleanliness, maintenance, and security of parish and school facilities, supporting the mission of Buckeye Catholic. This position involves custodial duties, preventative maintenance, and event setup and takedown, while providing a welcoming and safe environment for students, staff, and visitors.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sweeps, vacuums, mops, and scrubs floors.

Sometimes using ladders, dusts and washes walls, cleans ceilings and dusts and polishes light fixtures. Washes and replaces blinds. Washes windows.

Moves cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areas.

May remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.

May also sweep walks, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow or perform other incidental seasonal tasks.

Empty trash cans and replace liners.

Re-fill soap supply dispensers.

Set up and take down furniture and equipment for events.

Clean Chapel, stairwells, offices, restrooms, and common areas including kitchen and coffee shop to maintain a welcoming and professional environment.

Coordinate preventative maintenance checks and schedules for equipment and facilities.

Regular attendance and punctuality is essential for this job.
OTHER POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Complies with federal, state and local safety laws.

Maintains a neat and safe work area.

See to the disposal or recycling of waste, newspapers and aluminum.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required: Compliance with BCI&I background checks and completion of Protecting God's Children program prior to beginning employment.
Education: High School diploma or G.E.D. certificate required
Experience: Previous custodian experience is preferred
Job Related Skills: This position requires frequent movement about the school buildings to complete the essential job responsibilities as outlined above.
Interpersonal Skills: Ability to be a team player and have harmonious relationship skills when dealing with co-workers and other parish employees, families and the general public.
