Department Overview:
The Wisconsin Union, often referred to as "the heart and soul" of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, has enhanced the lives of members and visitors since it was founded in 1907. Since 1928, when the doors to Memorial Union opened, the Wisconsin Union has served as the living room of the UW-Madison campus. The Union connects students, faculty, staff, members, and visitors through shared cultural, social, and recreational events and experiences.

- We are hiring for both summer and fall semesters!
- For summer:
- We have some shifts available at Terrace and Memorial Union. Please refer to the day(s) and time(s) below:
- 1. Sunday: 7 am - 11 am
- 2. Monday: 1 pm - 5 pm
- 3. Wednesday: 1 pm - 5 pm
- 4. Friday: 7 am - 11 am, 11 am - 1 pm, 1 pm - 3 pm, 5 pm - 9 pm, 9 pm - 11 pm
- 5. Saturday: 11 am - 1 pm, 1 pm - 3 pm, 5 pm - 9 pm, 9 pm - 11 pm
- You can also continue working with us during fall semester if you're interested!
- For Fall semester:
- We have several shifts available during the academic year. Most shifts are 2 hours long, and you're welcome to pick up 2–3 consecutive shifts if you'd like to work a longer block.

4Position Summary/Job Duties:
General custodial duties include but are not limited to:

Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming
-
Emptying trash and recycling
-
Cleaning and restocking restrooms
-
Washing and dusting windows
-
Clearing tables, moving furniture, taking out trash on the Terrace
-
Snow removal (in season)
-
Badger Bash events (in season)
Qualifications:
- Great work ethic and reliability are a must!
- Experience helpful, but not required
- Be comfortable lifting up to 50lbs to waist-height without assistance
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods
- Capacity to squat and kneel to clean low or hard-to-reach areas
Student Status
To be eligible for the Wisconsin Union positions, you must be currently enrolled in a college, university, or highschool (at least 16). It is not permissible to hire a person as a student hourly employee if they are taking credits merely to be eligible for student hourly employment. Review UW Policy 5003- Student Hourly Employment for more information. If school is in break period (summer, spring, winter), applicants must intend to enroll in courses the following semester.
