Overview Supports the Customs compliance team with hands-on exposure to US and Canadian import/export operations, assisting with supervised data entry, documentation, and recordkeeping across brokerage, carrier, and government portals under the guidance of a Customs Compliance Manager Responsibilities What You’ll Get to Do: US Imports Support: Assist with recording new shipment information from pre-alerts and inbound reports. Help monitor the daily holds/exceptions list and flag items for manager’s review. Monitor Importer Security Filing (ISF) tracking for ocean shipments and support related data entry. Assist with entering brokerage billing information from brokers’ portals. Practice track-and-trace lookups under guidance. Observe and assist with entry information logging for duty accruals (data entry only; no payment submission). US Exports Support: Assist with recording export information from correspondence between the order team, warehouse, carriers, broker’s export team, and the Canadian broker, where applicable. Help update shipping information under review. Canadian Imports Support: Assist with recording shipment information from carrier and broker reporting. Help flag exceptions for manager follow-up. Assist with brokerage billing data entry. Practice track-and-trace lookups under guidance. Observe and assist with release information logging (data entry only). Recordkeeping: Rename and file shipping documents for US imports and exports (invoices, bills of lading, arrival notices, delivery orders, proof of delivery). Download, rename, and file US entry documents and export declarations where applicable. Rename and file Canadian release declarations, entry packets, and brokerage billing records. Rename and file classification declarations, Food and Drug Agency (FDA) letters, and Other Government Agency / Partner Government Agency (OGA/PGA) declarations. Classification Database: Assist with monitoring declarations and organizing Section 232-specific tariff information. Help maintain and update the OGA/PGA database under review. Practice logging classification updates. What You’ll Bring: Education & Experience Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in supply chain, international business, logistics, or a related field Prior internship or part-time experience involving data entry or administrative support preferred. Basic familiarity with import/export terminology preferred. Computer Knowledge; Proficient Microsoft Office Skills, particularly Excel. Excellent organizational skills Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; comfortable flagging issues for a supervisor rather than resolving independently Strong, positive written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with brokers, carriers, and internal teams.
