Overview The Senior Director of Operational Technology (OT) Security is a strategic executive leader responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving the global OT Security strategy that protects the organization’s manufacturing, industrial control systems (ICS), operational technology (OT), connected products, and supply chain environment. The ideal candidate is a visionary cybersecurity executive who can translate complex cyber risk into business outcomes, influence senior leaders across Operations and Technology, and build a resilient OT security program at global scale. This role will combine deep OT and industrial cybersecurity expertise with strong executive presence, operational credibility, and the ability to lead through influence in a matrixed enterprise. This role is expected to own the global OT security strategy for a 95B Consumer Packaging Goods company and focuses on, protecting hundreds of plants, warehouses and mixing centers while enabling secure digital transformation, and ensure cyber resilience across the company’s production and supply chain ecosystem. Reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) (or VP of Cybersecurity), this leader will establish enterprise-wide OT security capabilities across thousands of manufacturing facilities, distribution centers, digital twins sites, research and development laboratories, and critical infrastructure while enabling digital transformation, Industry 4.0 initiatives, smart manufacturing, robotics, IoT, AI-enabled operations, and cloud-connected industrial environments. This role requires close partnership with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Digital, Infrastructure, Product Development, and Executive Leadership to balance operational resiliency, safety, and cybersecurity risk. Responsibilities Leadership Responsibilities: Lead strategy and direction and drive excellence for the OT Security program. Governs how all testing is done for OT Security technology across the OT Security labs globally. Accountable to define the vision to build and deploy the OT reference architecture, design and governance standards for OT Security which includes increased visibility, next generation firewalls, OT End Point Detection & Response (EDR), OT USB Scanning, Process Whitelisting and additional OT Security controls based on the site archetypes. Plan and manage full time (external / internal) resources to complete OT Security implementations globally at operational sites. Tools & Asset Management: Responsible for managing the OT Security tools across the S&T organization. The scope of the role includes the inventory, licensing and usage of existing tools as well as the evaluation of new tools for optimization across PepsiCo IT. Additionally includes maintaining an inventory of sites across the OT environment. Establishes automated testing framework across sectors and S&T capabilities Secure digital twins AI-enabled manufacturing security OT Incident Response: Partners and collaborates closely with the Cyber Fusion Center, Infrastructure and Operations, the Engineering, Legal, Controls and Audit teams on: Industrial incident response Plant recovery planning Ransomware preparedness Manufacturing continuity Crisis management Tabletop exercises Disaster recovery OT Resilience Regulatory & Compliance: Ensure alignment with: ISA/IEC 62443 NIST Cybersecurity Framework NIST SP 800-82 (where applicable) NIST 800-53 (where applicable) Center for Internet Security Controls International Organization for Standardization 27001 (where applicable) Regional privacy regulations Food manufacturing regulations Critical infrastructure guidance where applicable Additional Responsibilities Include: Leading Operational Technology (OT) and Industrial Control Systems (ICS) design and controls implementations across manufacturing operations and environments. Driving initiatives around OT security including OT network segmentation, secure remote access, and overall cyber risk reduction across the environment. Partnering closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Infrastructure, and Enterprise Cybersecurity leadership teams Supporting broader IT/OT convergence and smart manufacturing initiatives across multiple sites Enhancing cybersecurity governance, resilience, and business continuity across operational technology environments Manages the testing of OT security controls and capabilities within the lab environments. Manage third party vendors and integration partner implementations and ensuring compliance with PepsiCo OT standards and execution. Mature the overall OT Security metrics library and reporting capabilities for the program Compensation & Benefits: The expected compensation range for this position is between $157,200 - $312,000. Location confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 35% of annual salary paid out annually and an additional target payout of 15% of annual salary is paid out over 3 years following the end of the performance period. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required 10+ years of progressive OT engineering, technology or cybersecurity leadership experience. 8+ years leading Operational Technology or Industrial Control System engineering or security. Experience within global manufacturing organizations. Experience supporting multi-site global manufacturing environments. Executive leadership experience managing global cybersecurity teams. Demonstrated success developing enterprise OT cybersecurity programs. Experience presenting to executive leadership. Demonstrates the desire and ability to develop new technology skills, business knowledge, and customer service capability through training, experimentation, and self-study Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
