Job Summary:
The Cyber Security Intern will work closely with CFP’s Cybersecurity Team, IT Support, and Infrastructure groups to strengthen our security posture and support day‑to‑day protection of our digital environment. You will gain hands-on experience with security monitoring, incident response, and vulnerability management across both corporate and mill‑level systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Risk Assessment & Analysis
- Assist in conducting cybersecurity risk assessments across corporate and mill systems.
- Support review of third‑party vendor risks, including questionnaires, security documentation, and compliance checks.
- Help identify gaps in security controls, policies, and processes.
- Track risk findings, document remediation actions, and follow up with IT and operations teams.
Security Governance & Compliance
- Assist with maintaining and updating internal security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Support alignment of CFP’s security practices to industry frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF).
- Participate in internal audits and evidence‑gathering activities for compliance initiatives.
- Contribute to reporting on cybersecurity metrics, trends, and risk indicators.
Incident Preparedness & Resilience
- Help evaluate incident response plans and business continuity documentation.
- Participate in tabletop exercises and simulations to validate CFP’s readiness for security events.
- Assist in documenting lessons learned and updating response procedures.
Vulnerability & Threat Risk Evaluation
- Support vulnerability tracking and risk scoring based on severity, likelihood, and business impact.
- Assist with asset inventories and classification to ensure systems are properly risk‑rated.
- Help analyze threat intelligence relevant to manufacturing operations and supply chain dependencies.
Awareness & Communication
- Develop easy‑to‑understand materials to help employees recognize risks and follow best practices.
- Provide risk‑related insights to HR, IT, mill leadership, and other stakeholders as needed.
- Help promote a culture of risk‑aware decision‑making across the organization.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, IT, or related field.

- Duration of internship will be from June 1st to August 14th.
- Paid up to 40 hours per week
