We’re hiring a Cytotechnologist II who brings advanced expertise to our laboratory team and plays a lead role in ensuring high-quality, accurate cytology services. In this role, you’ll combine specialized diagnostic skills with leadership, training, and quality oversight—serving as a technical resource and mentor while helping drive continuous improvement across the department.
What you’ll do
- Screen and evaluate cytology specimens to detect cancer and other pathological conditions, using expert knowledge of normal cell morphology and disease-related cellular changes.
- Assess specimen preparation quality and staining methods, leveraging experience with a wide range of preparation techniques.
- Take a lead role in developing, implementing, and maintaining new procedures, instrumentation, and laboratory-related computer functionality.
- Train and mentor cytology staff, including onboarding new team members and evaluating technical performance.
- Support quality assurance, regulatory compliance, proficiency testing, and ongoing review and updates of departmental procedures and reports.
Who you are
- An experienced Cytotechnologist with advanced knowledge of cytologic morphology, disease processes, and treatment-related cellular changes (including chemotherapy and radiation effects).
- Comfortable taking ownership of projects, serving as a technical expert, and functioning as a go-to resource for the team.
- Experienced in quality control, regulatory requirements, and laboratory compliance standards.
- Passionate about education and collaboration, with the ability to train, mentor, and support fellow cytology professionals.
