Arconic is currently in search of a Data Analyst to join our Arconic Aluminum Extrusions Finance team in Lafayette IN. The Data Analyst is responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing spreadsheet-based reports that support business decision making, with focus on Finance and Human Resources. This role will work extensively with Microsoft Excel to organize, validate, and analyze data using lookup functions, formulas and structured reporting to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery of insights.

The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, comfortable working with large datasets, and translating raw data into clear, actionable reports for finance and HR stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Finance Support
    • Create and maintain Excel-based financial reports using formulas, including VLookup, HLookup, XLookup, IFstatements, and pivot tables
    • Consolidate data from multiple sources into standardized reporting templates.
    • Perform data validation and reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial information.
    • Support budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and variance analysis reporting.
    • Respond to ad-hoc data and reporting requests from Finance leadership.
  • Human Resources Support
    • Develop and maintain HR-related reports (e.g., headcount, turnover, attendance, labor metrics).
    • Support data analysis related to compensation, benefits, and workforce planning.
    • Ensure data integrity and consistency between datasets.
    • Assist with periodic HR reporting needs for leadership or compliance purposes.
  • Genera Data & Reporting Responsibilities
    • Design, improve and automate spreadsheet reports for efficiency and clarity.
    • Identify trends, discrepancies, and insights within data and communicate findings clearly.
    • Document report logic, formulas and data sources
    • Collaborate with Finance and HR stakeholders to understand reporting needs and timelines.
    • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and employee data.
  • Notes
    • Travel less than 10%

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, Business, Human Resources or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel including:
    • VLookup/HLookup/XLookup
    • Nested formulas
    • Pivot tables and charts
  • Experience creating structured spreadsheet reports for business or financial use
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple requests and meet deadlines.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment; eligibility will be required at the time of Hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting Finance and/or Human Resource functions.
  • Familiarity with HRIS or financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Workday)
  • Basic experience with data visualization or reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau etc.)
  • Understanding of financial or workforce metrics
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain data clearly to non-technical users.
