About this role

Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (MAPMG) invites applications for a Data Analyst to join our Reporting Analytics Department. This position is a full-time opportunity based out of our regional office located in Washington, D.C. (Capitol Hill) with a hybrid work model.

Reporting to the Lead Data Consultant, the Data Analyst provides analytical and consulting support to MAPMG leadership by analyzing, manipulating, tracking, and reporting healthcare data to support strategic decision-making. In this role, you will work with internal data systems to extract and analyze information and present actionable insights to leaders across medical office buildings and operational teams.

You can expect to:  

  •  Develop dashboards, data visualizations, and reports to support clinical and operational decision-making.
  •  Prepare data analyses, performance metrics, and reporting related to utilization, operational efficiency, and healthcare quality measures including HEDIS.
  •  Partner with physicians, medical directors, and operational leaders to translate business questions into analytical solutions.
  •  Provide descriptive and diagnostic data analysis using tools such as SQL, Databricks, SAS, Excel, and Tableau.
  •  Lead data extraction, cleaning, and interpretation efforts to ensure accurate and actionable reporting.
  •  Oversee automated reporting processes and identify opportunities to improve data workflows and reporting structures.

 

What is required:

  • Minimum work experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 1–2 years of experience performing data analysis.
  • Experience working with large databases or data warehouses.
  • Proficiency with SQL, Databricks, SAS, Python, Tableau, and Excel.
  • Experience extracting, cleaning, and visualizing data.
  • Experience developing reports and dashboards to support business decisions.
  • Knowledge of healthcare quality reporting such as HEDIS preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to translate complex data into insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Must be able to commute to Washington, D.C. on an as-needed basis.
  • Candidates must either currently live in or be willing to relocate to the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.
  • Must provide documentation of the Covid vaccine 2-dose series (or J&J 1-dose) prior to October 1, 2023, or documentation for 1-dose of the most current Covid vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) as a condition of employment.
  • Must provide documentation for the influenza vaccine as a condition of employment.

The starting annual salary for this position ranges from $70,551 to $88,189 depending on circumstances including an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, training, market data, and other relevant factors. In addition to the salary range above, MAPMG offers rich benefits that add substantial value to the total compensation package.
