Data Analyst I

SUMMARY

Responsible for the development of financial reporting regarding the value of the client’s health and welfare initiatives. Responsible for providing support to the actuarial/underwriting/data analytics department. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Creates reporting to analyze results of Care Management and Wellness initiatives;

•    Collects, analyzes and interprets health care data;

•    Leads plan design modeling analysis efforts;

•    Directs underwriting relationships with vendor underwriters;

•    Oversees and coordinates efficient work flow between actuaries and account managers;

•    Provides reporting from data warehouse;

•    Coordinates a variety of special projects such as benchmarking using data warehoused information;

•    Provides support to underwriting/actuarial department;

•    Supports financial consultants with various benefit issues and projects;

•    Engages in optimal and appropriate usage of applicable agency management systems;

•    Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business or equivalent combination of education and experience
One (1) or more years related work experience 
Technical understanding of data structure, data mining and reporting processes
Underwriting experience a plus
Significant experience with Microsoft Excel and Access required, prior experience with SQL a plus
