About the Team
The Risk Solutions Data Science Team provide data products and services to help our business units use technology to create, manage, and optimize information and business processes. These include a wide range of activities such as: model development, process automation, decision support, and data augmentation. The overall goal of the team is to provide technology solutions that increase efficiency, increase revenue, and give our company a competitive advantage over our competitors.
The Data Science Team within the Risk Solutions division is seeking an intern for the summer 2026.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
- Analyzes internal and external data and performs statistical modeling to develop actionable insights and recommendations to management regarding business and product performance.
- Develops data mining architectures/models/protocols, statistical reporting, and data analysis methodologies to identify trends and extract knowledge from large, high dimensional data sets
- Identifies areas to increase efficiency and automation of data analysis processes.
- Translate business problems/opportunities into technical requirements and data science specifications.
- Distill and present complex problems and solutions by creating concise slide decks for leadership
- Creates solutions that enable enhanced business performance and decision making through a range of data preparation, modeling, analysis and/or visualization techniques.
- Uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to develop processes automation.
- Researches and applies knowledge of existing and emerging data science principles, theories, and techniques to inform business decisions.
- Develops and maintains strong business knowledge and customer relationships.
- May estimate the economic impact of operational decisions.
- Actively participates in agile planning and documentation in support of producing minimum viable products as well as product long term roadmaps
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
- Development skills in Python, the core AI/ML libraries (required)
- PySpark, PyTorch
- Retrieve and manipulate data and troubleshoot data issues via SQL query
- Experience with Snowflake and SQL database
- Experience with distilling and presenting complex problems and their solutions to a non-technical audience
- Internal drive to expand your personal domain expertise and curiosity about how to use that expertise in collaboration with other team members to mitigate our current and future customers’ financial needs.
Education
- Working towards Master’s Degree in Data Science, Applied Math, Statistics, Engineering, Finance, Science, or Computer Science or equivalent experience
