About this role

Job Summary:

The Data Scientist provides a crucial role in helping the NU System achieve the vision of making actionable data accessible to users across the system. The Data Scientist is responsible for utilizing institutional data to interpret meaning and prediction for business purposes using a variety of methodologies and sharing results via data visualizations or presentations. The Data Scientist is part of the Enterprise Data Solutions team, reporting directly to the University President.

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Social Science, Statistics, Mathematics or related field

1 year significant experience performing complex statistical or research analyses to include creating data visualizations (e.g. Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, R, Python, MATLAB, D3, or similar).

Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with attention to detail

 

Equivalent combination of education and experience, that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in Institutional Research and higher education

Demonstrated experience making presentations in a business or professional setting
