What You’ll Be Doing:

As a Day Porter, you’re the face of our company – working at our client sites to provide exceptional service during business hours. You’ll keep our client buildings clean, safe, and welcoming by maintaining common areas like restrooms, lobbies, hallways, and break rooms throughout the day. You handle routine cleaning tasks, respond quickly to spills or urgent needs, and prepare spaces such as conference rooms for daily use. You safely operate cleaning equipment, monitor supplies, and communicate needs to your supervisor while working independently. You may also assist with minor maintenance tasks and building upkeep to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Day Porter Duties and Responsibilities

  • Clean all common room areas including the bathrooms, hallways, lobbies, and break rooms.
  • Safelyoperatecleaning equipment, including a backpack vacuum. 
  • Prepare conference rooms before and after meetings.
  • When applicable, place safety hazard signs in the building including wet paint and wet floor warning signs.
  • Respond to any major spills or other cleaning crises.
  • Remove litter and rubbish from main common rooms.
  • Notify supervisor when inventory or cleaning supplies need to be ordered. 
  • Complete minor repairs and building improvements.
  • Any other duties, as assigned by manager. 

Day Porter Qualifications and Requirements

  • Able to use basic cleaning equipment.
  • Able to work safely with a variety of cleaning supplies.
  • Handle basic maintenance, building repairs, cleaning, and other janitorial work.
  • A friendly demeanor and exceptional customer service skills. 
  • Ability to manage your time efficiently.
  • Work well when supervisors are not present.
  • Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice.
  • AHigh school diplomaor GED. 
  • Basic math skills
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. –  We Use E-Verify.

Physical Considerations: 

  • Stand and walk for extended periods of time. 
  • Bend, kneel, crouch, and as required by job. 
  • Liftup-to40lbsas required by job.
