Pay Rate: $24 per hour
Job Type: Temporary College Intern
Duration: Summer 2026 - Starting in June 2026 for 12 weeks
Hours: 40 hours a week
Telework: Fully remote

What Does the IT/Health Department Portfolio Do?
We are a team of senior business systems analysts who deliver the greatest possible value to our Health Department customers. We improve their experience of technology and deliver solutions that make it easier for them to do the very important work of serving our community.
Internship Description & Responsibilities:
Develop tools using Gemini to increase productivity and increase ease for the Senior Business Systems Analysts (who also work as project managers for smaller projects and as a product owner for various custom developed and vendor applications).
Analyze current state and desired future state
Interview team members
Analyze business requirements and dependencies
Research possibilities
Create iterative solutions by creating prototypes and gaining feedback
Collaborate with the IT Senior Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to explore and gain insight into the evolving areas of data analysis and Artificial Intelligence (AI), specifically focusing on tools like Snowflake and Power BI. This role involves assisting in determining the actual needs of internal customers and identifying how these advancements in AI can effectively support them in achieving their objectives.
Learning Outcomes:
Enhance understanding of how Generative AI/Gemini can assist/enhance users ability to meet the challenges of their work
Application of AI in healthcare data analysis
Project management and business analyst fundamentals
Change management
Government IT standards and practices
Education and Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates should have completed or enrolled in a college/university academic institution
Familiarity with GenAI prompts
Familiarity with Google solutions is helpful
No previous IT or AI experience required
Bring your curiosity and a desire to learn healthcare IT and AI
