Job Description:

Deaf and Hard of Hearing Specialist | Seattle WA | 2026–2027 School Year

Ampersand Therapy is hiring an itinerant Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Specialist for the 2026–2027 school year in the Seattle WA area. We are a women- and therapist-founded company that values collaboration, professional support, and meaningful work with students and school communities.

Job Highlights:

  • Position: Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing

  • Setting: In-person and school-based

  • Schedule: Full time, approximately 8:00 AM–3:30 PM

  • Maximum Hours: Up to 40 hours per week

  • Dates: August 27, 2026–June 19, 2027

  • Grade Levels: All grade levels

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing

  • Assess students’ communication, language, academic, and accessibility needs

  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs

  • Adapt curriculum and classroom materials to support student access

  • Consult with general education teachers and school teams regarding accommodations

  • Support the use of hearing technology, assistive devices, and communication systems

  • Collaborate with families, interpreters, audiologists, and related service providers

  • Maintain accurate progress notes, service records, and educational documentation

  • Travel between assigned school sites as needed

Qualifications:

  • Valid state teaching credential with a Deaf and Hard of Hearing endorsement

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in deaf education, special education, or a related field

  • Experience supporting students across multiple grade levels preferred

  • Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills

  • Ability to travel between school sites
