About the Department

This position is responsible for assisting with the day to day operations of the Customer Experience Division's Training section within the Office of Continuous Improvement.  The individual is involved in advancing the Lean Process Improvement (LPI) methodology throughout the State of Michigan (SOM) through training, monitoring, and certification practices.  This lead role is responsible for the LPI certification program, coordination of the LPI mentoring program, training research, facilitation, reporting, instructional design and training delivery of the methodology, documentation and validation of results.  This individual is also responsible for the human-centered design (HCD) certification program, to include but not limited to administration of the program such as participation intake, participant oversight, mentoring coordination, and researcher certification.

Position Location/Remote Office:  The office location is Lansing, MI. The State of Michigan is not able to offer employment to out of-state applicants that do not plan to relocate. The Department of Technology Management and Budget currently offers a hybrid work option which requires two days working on-site at the official work location and three days of remote work per week.

Position Duties

Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
 

Experience
Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.

Other Qualifications

To be considered for this position you must: 

Equivalent combinations of nonprofessional experience, identified by the appointing authority and approved by Civil Service that are represented by subclass codes, will be accepted for classified, professional experience equivalent to the P11-level and above. The nonprofessional experience must be related to departmental programs and services that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Certain positions may be assigned subclass codes and individuals appointed must possess the required specialized experience.

Vacation and Sick Leave: Eligible full-time employees receive between 15 and 35 personal days and 13 sick days per year that may be rolled over to the following year if not used. Eligible employees also receive an additional day each year for community service or school functions. 
 
Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees can take 12 weeks of paid leave immediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child. 
 
Paid Holidays: Eligible employees receive 13 or 14 paid holidays each year including New Year’s Eve and Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Election Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving Friday, Christmas Eve and Day.
