Pay: $23.61 per hour
Work schedule: On-call

Job responsibilities: Detention Officers are responsible for the custody and security of detainees assigned to the facility.
Essential functions:
- Search for contraband and provide security.
- Count, feed and supervise non-citizens in housing, work, and other areas.
- Provide custody and security of non-citizens including observation of non-citizens.
- Perform security of various assigned areas.
- Perform specific security functions including ‘pat’ and ‘strip’ searches, by squatting and bending to perform such functions. Also required to climb ladders or stairs in search of contraband.
- Transfer and transport non-citizens by walking or riding in vehicles. Restrain and secure assaultive non-citizens, as needed.
- Must be able to work rotating shifts and all posts assignments.
- Maintain the secure custody and security of non-citizens including observation of non-citizens, which includes long periods of standing and sitting.
- Required to make periodic rounds of assigned area which may include long periods of walking and standing.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Prior correctional experience is preferred but not required.
- A valid driver license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
