Position Summary:

The Development Accounting Intern role provides an immersive, hands-on opportunity to gain real-world accounting experience in a dynamic and collaborative environment. You’ll work closely with our construction, management, and corporate accounting teams to support the development process from start to finish. This position is ideal for a motivated, detail-oriented team player eager to develop technical accounting skills, gain mentorship, and grow their career in real estate and construction accounting.

Who You’ll Report To:

The Development Accounting Intern will report to the Management Accounting Controller.

What You’ll Own:

  • Assist in closing draw packages and bookkeeping for development projects.
  • Enter and review development invoices and payables, supporting payment processing.
  • Work with senior development accountants on bank reconciliations, monthly draw packets, and financial reviews.
  • Help maintain accurate and complete financial records through research, filing, data entry, and bookkeeping.
  • Support the preparation of journal entries and financial reports.
  • Participate in additional accounting projects to gain exposure to all aspects of development accounting.
  • Take on other duties as assigned to enhance learning and experience.
