Job Description Summary

MIM Software’s DevSecOps team manages the software development lifecycle (SDLC) services that we use to produce our commercial software products. The DevOps Engineer intern helps maintain and administer this infrastructure. 

You’ll automate system configuration, perform routine maintenance, and troubleshoot problems using our suite of DevOps tools. This includes practical experience using infrastructure code tools such as Ansible, OpenTofu, and GitLab CI to build cloud-native IT systems that can help us deliver next-generation software products. 

Job Description

What You'll Do: 

  • Create Ansible playbooks to perform basic system automation tasks 

  • Refactor legacy Ansible code 

  • Write system administration documentation 

  • Use GitLab CI to test infrastructure code and write tests 

  • Assist with system maintenance 

  • Monitor & troubleshoot IT infrastructure using Datadog 

  • Work closely with experienced DevSecOps team members, including a personal mentor 

  • Learn about DevOps principles in an industry environment 

  • Learn about how DevOps practices can streamline work inside and outside engineering 

What You'll Need: 

  • Working knowledge of Linux-based operating systems 

  • Some experience writing code (in a programming language or infrastructure code) in coursework, projects, or previous internships 

  • Active pursuit of a bachelor's degree - preferably for a computer science-related discipline – or equivalent experience 

  • General problem-solving skills 

  • Strong analytical thinking 

  • Communication and organization skills
