We are looking for a Director of Executive Communications to lead internal and external communications for Electronic Arts’ Chief Experiences Officer.

This role will help shape the business unit narrative and be responsible for developing an integrated communications strategy aligned with clear business objectives and audiences. This role will partner closely with C-suite, executive leaders, and cross-functional partners to translate business unit priorities into clear, compelling communications that build credibility, confidence, and understanding of EA’s long-term strategy.

The ideal candidate is a sharp strategic advisor, exceptional writer, and experienced communications leader who can operate across executive positioning, media relations, thought leadership, and internal communications. They should be comfortable working as an individual contributor in fast-moving environments, distilling complex business and technology topics into accessible narratives, and helping executives communicate with clarity, authenticity, and impact.

This position will be based in Redwood City, California.

In this role you will:

  • Develop and lead a comprehensive internal and external communications strategy that supports the executive’s mission, business goals, and team positioning. This includes turning business unit strategy into clear, compelling narratives that define the market opportunity.

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the Chief Experiences Officer on communications opportunities, risks, and messaging.

  • Own end-to-end storytelling for the business unit, from positioning to execution across channels (i.e. speaking, thought leadership, social media, employees, etc.). You will partner closely with senior leaders, cross-functional teams, and product teams to shape messaging and public positioning.

  • Manage media relations and executive visibility/thought leadership opportunities for the Chief Experiences Officer, with the ability to respond quickly and decisively in fast-moving situations.

  • Build strong relationships with media, industry influencers, and key internal and external stakeholders.

  • Oversee internal communications strategy and channels for the business unit to ensure employees are informed, engaged, and aligned with strategy and values.

  • You will be responsible for directing high-impact presentations for executive and business unit meetings, as well as external Speaking opportunities, translating complex concepts into clear, visually engaging narratives.

  • There may be some travel required to accompany the executive for key appearances.

Qualifications

  • 14+ years of experience in executive communications, corporate communications, public relations, media relations, employee communications, or related fields.

  • Significant experience advising C-suite executives or senior leaders on communications strategy, messaging, media engagement, and thought leadership.

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills across executive, corporate, media, employee, and social formats.

  • Proven ability to translate complex business, technology, product, or cultural topics into clear, compelling narratives.

  • Deep experience developing executive thought leadership and external visibility programs.

  • Strong understanding of business, technology, entertainment, gaming, media, and cultural trends.

  • Demonstrated experience with media relations, spokesperson preparation, issues management, and high-stakes communications.

  • Sharp judgment, discretion, and executive presence, especially in ambiguous or sensitive situations.

  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and build trusted relationships across functions.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Comfortable operating strategically and hands-on — from shaping narrative architecture to drafting final copy.

  • Experience using visual, social, video, and presentation formats to bring executive storytelling to life.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field; advanced degree a plus.
