The hiring range for this position is $55.41 to $79.52. Actual compensation depends on experience, skills, and internal equity.
The Director will provide leadership, direction, oversight and supervision for the overall clinical operations of the Parsons Health Center in accordance with current Federal, State and Local regulations that govern the facility and Standards of Nursing Practice to ensure the highest degree of quality care is provided and maintained at all times.
Requirements
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Interview, hire and manage nursing professionals that embrace excellence in competency, compassion, care and communication.
- Coach, evaluate and develop employees to assist in setting and meeting performance and career goals
- Understand current Nursing Processes and Standards of Nursing Practice; effectively communicate to staff the expectation of absolute conformity to the process and standards as defined and apply appropriate accountability measures through coaching, mentoring and application of the progressive discipline process
- Direct, develop, organize, implement, evaluate the interdisciplinary processes in the Parsons Health Center as well as its programs and activities and ensure compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, accreditation and reimbursement guidelines and standards
- Ensure the workflow and processes for all resident care activities are efficient and void of redundancy; champion the appropriate utilization of nursing informatics and electronic health records documentation methods.
- Use and adapt to new technologies, including tools, equipment, electronic systems and processes, etc., to impact productivity of the department and services
- Develop, maintain and update written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day operations of the Parsons Health Center.
- Oversee education processes related to policies and hold individuals accountable for compliance with established policies and procedures
- Partner with the Licensed Nursing Home Administrator to ensure clinical operations and staff are survey ready at all times.
- Work closely with the interdisciplinary team to plan, implement and monitor audits and develop any necessary plans for corrections
- Manage quality and process improvement for the Parsons Health Center health care delivery system.
- Demonstrate commitment to resident and staff safety by speaking up about safety issues and changing nursing practices to enhance safety.
- Share errors through system reporting mechanisms and demonstrate shared accountability for safe practices
- Develop the annual Capital and Operating Budgets for the Parsons Health Center.
- Analyze monthly statistical and budget variance reports
- Champion resident centered care and lead best practice initiatives
- Serve on the Continuous Quality Improvement Committee for Parsons Health Center and fulfill committee responsibilities as outlined in regulations and the Quality Assurance Program for the
organization - Continue ongoing communication and provide responsive high-quality customer service with residents, responsible parties, physicians and others as appropriate
- Antibiotic Stewardship duties as assigned

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:
- Strong clinical and assessment skills and knowledge of diseases processes
- Knowledge of reimbursement regulations and nursing practices and procedures, as well as laws,
regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long term care administration - Ability to deal tactfully with staff, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public
- Ability to interpret, communicate and implement policies, procedures, regulations, financial records, reports, etc. to staff, residents, family members, visitors, and government agencies/personnel.
- Ability to make decisions and choices independently
- Ability to lead and motivate staff to achieve the desired results
- Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc. that are necessary for providing quality care and maintaining a sound business operation
- Ability to make sound decisions based on objective analysis of a situation when under pressure and/or adverse conditions
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills and ability to speak publicly in front of large or
small groups
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:
• Understanding and knowledge of culture change in the long-term care setting
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or the equivalent combination of education and experience to meet the
requirements of the position
• Valid license as a Registered Nurse in the state of Virginia in good standing
• Eight to ten years nursing experience
• Five to seven years management experience
• Acute and long-term care experience
DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Master’s degree in nursing
• Licensed Nursing Home Administrator
