DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position directs all nursing care activities and supports multidisciplinary operations across the Pennsylvania Soldiers' and Sailors' Home. It centers on leading clinical services, guiding staff, and promoting quality resident care. As a Director of Nursing (Clinical Services Manager, DMVA), you will perform the following duties:
- Operational Planning: Coordinate and evaluate health service operations with multidisciplinary staff
- Clinical Oversight: Guide nursing, pharmacy, therapy, and activity services to maintain quality care
- Program Management: Set goals, manage budgets, plan expenses, and oversee staff scheduling
- Policy Communication: Explain rules, procedures, and regulations to ensure proper implementation
- Resident Monitoring: Observe resident conditions, ensure reporting, and participate in meetings and committees
- Safety Compliance: Identify hazards, take corrective actions, and follow required protective measures

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This may change based on operational needs.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
Organization or Location Restrictions:
- This posting is restricted to Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, Pennsylvania Soldiers' and Sailors' Home employees only.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirement:
- Four years of managerial nursing experience directing the development and implementation of nursing care plans and services in a long-term care or assisted living facility, that includes two years of supervising registered nurse supervisors.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
- If you possess an active temporary practice permit, you must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
Additional Requirement:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
