Director of Nursing Job Duties:
- Provide direct skilled client care in accordance with the care plan
- Perform patient assessments and monitor condition, reporting any changes promptly
- Administer treatments and nursing interventions requiring specialized skills
- Collaborate with the care team to ensure positive patient outcomes
- Follow physician orders and established care plans
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Lead a team of nurses and indirectly manage caregiving team to provide A Higher Standard of Care

Position Requirements:
- Current and unrestricted RN license in Illinois
- 3-5 years of nursing experience, home care or home health experience required
- 3-5 years of leadership experience
- Experience with both Pediatric and Geriatric Patients
- Experience in state and joint commission audits a plus
- Policy Development a plus
- Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
- Reliable transportation and auto insurance
- Clean background and criminal record
The Director of Nursing (DON) is a Registered Nurse who is responsible for the overall direction of home health clinical services for their branch. The DON will have overall responsibility for the quality, adequacy of services provided and supervision of staff. The DON establishes, implements, and evaluates goals and objectives for home health services that meet and promote the standards of quality. They also monitor and train nurses on the business side of things, including but not limited to: choosing product codes, monitor billing for correctness, increasing skilled nursing when applicable, marketing, sales, and intakes. They also are primary for making sure their branch is Joint Commission and State Audit ready at all times and will be a part of both survey processes.
The DON assures that care is coordinated between services and that all of the client’s needs are identified through the assessment process and addressed through the implementation of the Plan of Care and supervisory process. They act as a member of the leadership team and work closely with Branch Managers, CCMs, Office Staff, and other Directors to continue growth and sustainability processes. They may also manage a client caseload as needed and provide direct hands-on clinical cares to clients as well as participate and manage the clinical on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 RN availability for phone call inquires and field staff support.
