As the Director of Operations, you will play a pivotal role in leading execution and coordinating operational activities across multiple locations (8-12), catering to diverse demographics and spanning large geographical areas. Pay: Competitive based on market and industry
Weekdays, Weeknights and Weekends required
40+ hours a week (typically 40 hours a week; seasonality can impact this)
Work Location: Hybrid with travel
Travel: Up to 75% visiting schools, meetings, and conferences
Responsibilities:
Provide strong leadership and strategic direction to school leadership and staff to ensure consistent operational excellence across all locations.
Implement and maintain standardized operational procedures, best practices, and performance metrics to maximize efficiency and productivity.
Recruit, train, and manage school leadership and staff to ensure high performance, motivation, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
Develop and implement strategies to cater to diverse demographics, ensuring inclusive and tailored services to meet the needs of different communities.
Ensure ongoing maintenance, cleanliness, and brand standards, including the interior, exterior, pool, and pump room, are maintained to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for staff and customers.
Champion a customer-centric culture and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
through effective communication, issue resolution, and service quality standards to drive retention.
Monitor and uphold high service delivery standards, customer satisfaction, quality assurance, and brand standards across all swim school locations.
Ensure all operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including safety standards, health codes, and employment law, to minimize risk and liability.
Leverage financial data and reporting to analyze business trends and adjust to deliver revenue and enrollment growth profitability.
Effective budget management and cost-saving measures without compromising the quality of the services or the brand.
Cultivate a positive, inclusive workplace culture that encourages staff retention through team building, recognition, and growth opportunities.
Ensure schools leverage effective local marketing strategies, have a strong social media presence, and build relationships within the community.
Cultivate a collaborative relationship with the hosted partner to ensure the ease of operations. (If applicable)
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
5-7 years in multi-unit operations management, ideally within the education, sports, or recreation industry.
Proven track record of successfully managing operations across diverse demographics and geographical areas, demonstrating adaptability and cultural competence.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and align teams toward common operational goals.
Knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements related to aquatic facilities and experience in managing compliance across multiple locations.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while being agile and taking initiative.
Strong critical thinking skills and proactive approach to problem-solving.
Must be able to lift 30 lbs. and be on your feet for long periods.
CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications are required within 90 days of hire. (training provided) Lifeguard and Certified Pool Operator certifications are preferred.
Aquatics management or swim instruction experience is a plus.
