Job Summary:

• Work with the Institution of Higher Education (IHEs), Educator Preparation Programs (EPPs), Local Education Agencies (LEAs), and stakeholders to develop effective, sustainable and scalable systems and partnerships to positively impact the educator, including teachers and administrators, pipeline and educator retention
• This position will supervise Recruitment and Retention staff, including the K-12 Military Liaison and their programs, Apprenticeship Specialists and the Arizona Teacher Registered Apprenticeship Program
• Additionally, this position supervises a Data Reporting Analyst who works directly with Arizona workforce data, as well as a Recruitment and Retention Specialist who supports statewide recruitment and retention systems in various capacities
• Occasional in-state and out-of-state travel is required for this position

Job Duties:

• Work cooperatively to develop, facilitate, and monitor effective systems, based on data and research, to increase the pool of effective teachers in Arizona schools and districts
• Work with IHEs, EPPs, LEAs, and stakeholders to develop effective, sustainable and scalable systems to positively impact the educator pipeline and retention, which includes teachers and administrators
• Provide technical assistance at the local, state, and national level through various trainings, presentations, and other supportive measures
• Create and maintain partnerships with education, workforce, and community stakeholders at the local, state, and national level, to implement and advance initiatives that positively impact educator retention and workforce sustainability
• Supervise Recruitment and Retention staff, including the following:
     • K-12 Military Liaison and their programs
     • Apprenticeship Specialists and the Arizona Teacher Registered Apprenticeship Program
     • Data Reporting Analyst and assist with Arizona workforce data
     • Recruitment and Retention Specialist and assist with supporting statewide recruitment and retention systems, training, and presentations in various capacities
• Coordinate and collaborate with other Student Achievement and Educator Excellence Directors as well as with other units throughout the agency

• Applicants must have an Arizona Teaching Certificate
• A Master’s degree in Education, a related field, or equivalent experience to substitute for the degree, is required

Selective Preference(s):

Preference will be given to those applicants with:
• Knowledge of Human Talent Management systems and procedures

• Teaching and administrative experience at the K-12 and/or higher education level(s)

Retirement:

You will be required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) upon your 27th week of employment, subject to waiting period. On or shortly after, your first day of employment you will be provided with enrollment instructions and effective date.
