Job Summary
The Director of Product Management is responsible for driving the overall product vision, strategy, and execution across key business units within Walgreens, ensuring alignment with major business objectives and delivering exceptional results. This role leads a team of product managers and analysts and fosters a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Collaborates closely with executive leadership, providing strategic insights, driving cross-functional alignment, and influencing key business decisions. This role is responsible for establishing and managing a structured product portfolio management framework and process. Role is responsible for driving the execution of the biggest strategic initiatives and has a strong influence in shaping the product organization. Job Responsibilities
- Defines the omni-channel product vision that supports the company’s vision, strategy and direction. Develops and oversees the implementation of processes, and policies that have significant impact upon the organization.

- Develops short- and long-range product and technology strategies and plans.
- Works cross functionally with technology, design, finance, procurement and business groups to understand emerging customer and business trends that require enhancements or new product features to be developed.
- Defines and prioritizes the product development roadmap for the division and company, with a strong product portfolio management analytical approach.
- Develops budget for specified product line and is accountable for delivering against business goals/objectives.
- Makes recommendations for the formulation of the strategies and operating plans of the specified area of responsibility, then, based on prevailing conditions executes or adjusts the operating plans.
- Brings a strong financial and business discipline to roadmap prioritization and perform pre/post launch analysis of each product and drives team financial accountability for results. Sets financial, operational and quality objectives for the unit or product line and develops master operational plans.
- Leads execution (scope, requirements definition and delivery) of top strategic product initiatives.
- Shares highly complex information related to areas of expertise. Interacts with senior management to keep abreast of objectives. Interacts with direct reports and peers in management / customers / vendors to interpret information and improve cross-functional processes and programs. Builds and enhances key internal and external contacts.
- Accountable for growth and optimization of consumer experiences, market share and/or specified initiatives.
- Reviews the competitive marketplace and adjusts operational activities based upon identified opportunities.
- Oversees and directs the work of a high performing team of product managers and analysts. Obtains and allocates resources to meet operating plans. Ensures the ongoing training and development of direct reports.
- Develops and mentors staff through on-boarding, open communication, training and development opportunities and performance management processes; builds and maintains employee morale and motivation; ensures the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies; fosters a diverse and inclusive workplace.

External Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and atleast 8 years of experience in Product management in technology and/or retail industry, directly or through consulting engagements or High School/ GED and atleast 11 years of experience in Product management in technology and/or retail industry, directly or through consulting engagements.
- At least 8 years’ experience in consumer-facing digital commerce
- At least 8 years’ experience in product management, product marketing, product/program management, business development, or management consulting
- Experience influencing and communicating with Senior executives regarding product strategy, financials and outcomes.
- Experience with analyzing data to identify trends or exceptions to derive a story and drive outcomes.
- Experience collaborating with internal and external resources to develop strategies that meet department goals, create business valuation models with finance teams and establish joint outcomes.
- Experience leading and coaching a team of product managers to achieve their potential
- At least 5 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.
- At least 5 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross-functional team leadership.
- Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state)

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’ s Degree in Computer Science and MBA
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 8 years’ experience in product management/ business management in on-line technology OR a High School Diploma / GED and at least 11 years of experience in product management/business management in on-line technology.
- Experience in a retail industry with strong focus in Omni-channel, Pharmacy or Healthcare is a plus.
- At least 8 years’ experience in product marketing, product/program management, business development, or management consulting
- Experience in retail industry Pharmacy or healthcare a plus.
- Experience with Generative AI (GenAI) tools and processes, including AI-powered analytics, automation tools, and language models for enhancing decision-making and operations.
