What does this role look like?



As the Strike Deterrence and Missile Defense (SDMD) Director, you will lead the Deterrence portfolio, inclusive of both US Navy and US Air Force deterrence and the UK Navy deterrence mission.

This position will have the responsibility for defining the company's strategies, aligning financial and talent resources, prioritizing opportunities, developing mission-unique technologies, engaging customer/stakeholder communities, and ultimately delivering new business for the company in this mission area.

The leader will partner closely across the Strategic & Missile Defense (SMD) Systems mission segment senior leaders, engineering & technology, finance, communications, government affairs, and other functions to bring the best of the corporation to drive winning business.




In this role as the Deterrence MSAC Director, you will have the following daily key responsibilities:



• Lead team of S&BD professionals to develop and execute overall campaign strategies for this mission area.

• Provide oversight and guidance in the development and execution of complex growth and capture strategies in this mission area.

• Provide oversight and leadership for architecture development, technology discriminator development, advocacy campaigns, competitive landscape assessment, winning positions, compelling offers, and successful captures.



This position does not support teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near one of our Lockheed Martin Space facilities in either:
Denver, CO ,
Titusville-Space Coast, FL,
Washington, DC ,
Or
King of Prussia/Valley Forge, PA ,
and be expected to work in the office as needed and as appropriate.

Basic Qualifications

To be effective, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education
• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience.
• Formal leadership experience.
• Experience and knowledge of strategic deterrence architectures and capabilities.
• Proficiency in strategic planning and execution.
• Demonstrated ability to translate segment insights, customer needs and technological advancements into actional business outcomes.
• Proven understanding of capture processes.
• You will need to be a US Citizen, and currently possess and be able to maintain a US Secret Clearance with ability to obtain TOP SECRET/SCI clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Desired skills

To be effective, ideally, you should also have:

• Background in or existing relationships with, Navy Strategic Systems Programs, Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center and Global Strike Command customers.
• Ability to build and nurture relationships with stakeholders, customers, and industry partners to drive business growth and secure long-term partnerships.
• Full Spectrum Leader who energizes, collaborates with, and develops high performing teams.
• Active TOP SECRET/SCI clearance.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $180,000 - $309,120. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays.
