About this role
About the Department
- Directs the department's Division of Staff Development and Training, which includes managing the design, implementation and evaluation of a comprehensive statewide staff development and training program for 5,000 plus employees of SCDC.
- Directs the day-to-day operations of the certification/recertification program and various development programs to ensure compliance as mandated by federal and state legislation and by agency policy and procedures.
- Manages staff, resource instructors, training classes, feeding & housing students, maintenance of building and grounds and provides security for inmate workers.
- Plans and directs the implementation of the agency's employee development programs using information from an organizational needs analysis, management, employee consultation, and program evaluation to include curriculum design/development, testing & evaluation
- Procedures and instructors performance.
- This position requires daily contact with inmates.

Position Duties
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A bachelor's degree and relevant program management experience.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree and ten years' experience in the management of a staff development and training program.
Minimum Qualifications
Prefer experience be in staff development and training within a corrections or law enforcement agency or a branch of the United States Armed Forces.
