Scope of the role:

As Division Quality Engineer, you'll operate at the intersection of continuous improvement leadership, hands-on quality system support, and data-enabled decision-making — helping CET's quality organization become more consistent, more responsive, and more preventive.

Champion Performance Excellence (PEx) Across the Division:

  • Serve as the division's PEx champion, promoting continuous improvement methodologies, structured problem-solving, and process excellence.
  • Partner with site and functional teams to identify improvement opportunities, apply best practices, and drive projects to successful completion.
  • Support proactive identification and mitigation of alpha and beta risk by strengthening process controls, measurement systems, issue prevention, and decision-making rigor.

Support Plant/Process Quality Assurance (PQA):

  • Provide hands-on support for divisional PQA activities, including quality system improvements, process monitoring, standardization, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive actions.
  • Help align quality systems across sites, improving consistency and enabling faster, more effective issue resolution and prevention.

Enable Data-Driven Quality:

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret quality and operational data to surface trends, drive decisions, and inform priorities.
  • Develop and improve dashboards, reports, and data tools to increase visibility and speed across the division's quality processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through data systems, digital tools, and — where appropriate — AI-enabled solutions.

Drive Cross-Functional Execution and Adoption:

  • Support divisional quality projects and promote consistency in quality practices and metrics across sites.
  • Lead training, documentation, communication, and adoption of new quality processes, systems, and tools.
  • Collaborate across plant/site quality teams, operations, engineering, and divisional leadership to embed durable improvements.

Required skills and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in quality, engineering, manufacturing, continuous improvement, or a related discipline.
  • Strong aptitude for manufacturing performance analytics, reporting, and working with data systems.
  • Proven ability to identify trends, solve problems, and drive process improvement initiatives.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence improvements across teams in a matrixed environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other standard business/reporting tools.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Performance Excellence (PEx), Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience supporting Plant/Process Quality Assurance (PQA) or broader quality systems.
  • Familiarity with core quality tools — root cause analysis, CAPA, SPC, FMEA, audits, or process control methods.
  • Green Belt or Black Belt certification, or equivalent quality/process improvement training.
  • Experience with BI and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or similar platforms.
  • Exposure to or interest in AI, automation, or advanced analytics for business or quality applications.

Work Arrangement & Travel:

  • Location: Corning, NY
  • Travel: Approximately 10–15% to CET plants and sites in support of divisional quality priorities
  • Schedule: Standard business hours, with flexibility as project and site needs require
