At RJE Telecom, as a Drafting Supervisor, you will lead our drafting team to translate engineering concepts into precise technical drawings. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Drafting Supervisor to lead our drafting department. In this role, you will oversee a team of CAD drafters, manage workflow, and ensure all technical drawings meet safety, quality, and industry standards. You will act as a key liaison between engineers, customers, and leadership driving design feasibility and project success.
Compensation Data
Starting salary range from $24.00 to $30.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications
What you’ll do
- Assign drafting tasks and evaluate performance to ensure high quality and timely project delivery
- Review technical drawings , maps, and route designs for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to federal, state, local, and client requirements
- Troubleshoot complex OSP challenges regarding utility pole placement, conduit systems, and right-of-way routing
- Act as main point of contact between field construction crews, project managers, and telecommunications engineers to revise plans and incorporate field changes
What you’ll need
- To be 18 years of age or older
- Authorization to work in the United States for this company
- Verizon experience a plus
- Three years of telecommunications OSP Drafting Supervisory experience is required
- High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or at least three years of telecommunications OSP Drafting/Engineering Experience is required
- Associate’s or Bachelor's Degree in a related field is preferred
Knowledge of
- Telecommunications industry standards
- Verizon experience a plus
- Regulations for OSP facilities
- Aerial, buried and underground construction methods and engineering requirements
- Government permit requirements
- OSP Communications Design systems
- Applications such as IDDS, CANVAS, VENUE, vBuild, PRS.ICGS, LFIM, Microstation, NJUNS
- Knowledge of fiber optic counts, fiber assignments and splicing schematics in a high-density fiber environment
Physical abilities & exposures
- Routinely: Work alone in remote locations, use keyboard and mouse
- Occasionally: Operate vehicle, climb stairs, stand, walk
