THE POSITION
As a Driver License Examiner Assistant with the Department of Transportation, you will play a key part in helping customers receive the services they need. This role lets you use strong communication skills, accuracy, and professionalism to guide people through licensing requirements. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position supports the daily operations of a Driver License Center by assisting customers and ensuring proper processing of applications, tests, and identity documents. It helps protect against fraud and promotes safe and efficient licensing services. As a Driver License Examiner Assistant, you will perform the following duties:
- Customer Service: Greet visitors professionally and guide them through driver license requirements
- Identity Verification: Examine identification documents to prevent fraud and ensure accurate processing
- Test Administration: Conduct vision screenings and standardized knowledge tests for applicants
- Data Entry: Enter applicant information and test results into required computer systems
- Information Support: Provide clear explanations about REAL ID, renewals and license options
- Policy Compliance: Follow customer service, fee waiver and REAL ID rules in all transactions

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 80 hours bi-weekly
- Work hours are 8:15 AM to 4:45 PM, Tuesday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Overtime and travel as needed
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- This position requires the selected candidate to undergo and pass a Fingerprint and Name-Based Criminal History Check prior to employment.
This position is subject to the provisions of a collective bargaining agreement or memorandum of understanding.
You must be eligible for selection in accordance with merit system employment regulations.
