Job Overview:

Performs routine and specific specialized diagnostic sonographic imaging procedures at a level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail under direction of a radiologist. Assists physicians with interventional ultrasound-guided procedures.

Job Duties:

• Performs diagnostic sonographic imaging procedures.
• Performs quality control and quality assessment.
• Assists physicians with interventional procedures.
• Ensures the day to day operations run smoothly and issues are reported promptly.
• Participates in staff in-service program.
• Help schedules patients.
• Keeps area supplied and clean.
• Assists with orientation of new staff and students.
• Assists clerical area when needed.
• Perform HIS/RIS/PACS functions.
• Maintains equipment to decrease downtime and overtime expense.
• Participates in performance improvement and quality assurance initiatives.
• Other job duties as needed, including diagnostic images if sonographer has ARRT license

Licenses and Certifications:

• Certified by the ARDMS as a Sonographer and maintain annual renewal/registration with the certifying organization. Revocation or inability to maintain licensure and/or registration may result in termination of the individual. Required
• Didactic course work and alternative eligibility as specified in the ARDMS application for certification instructions. Required
• If employee is RDMS or registry eligible, no additional experience necessary. Required
• Renewal of licensure will be completed 2 weeks prior to expiration date. Required
