Position Summary ORLANDO HEALTH – HEALTH CENTRAL HOSPITAL Located in Ocoee, Florida, Orlando Health – Health Central Hospital is a 252-bed comprehensive medical and surgical acute-care facility that has been serving the residents of west Orange County for more than 70 years. Services range from 24/7 emergency care to cardiovascular and stroke care, neurosciences, oncology, orthopedics, minimally invasive robotic surgery and more. Responsibilities Essential Functions • Demonstrates competency in routine noninvasive and/or invasive cardiology and/or vascular ultrasound diagnostics, and equipment operation and maintenance. • Performs routine assignments using existing procedure guidelines. • Receives instruction, guidance, and direction from more senior level sonographers. • Use prescribed guidelines or policies in analyzing situations. • Has conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures within the job. • Recognizes normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology in conjunction with obtaining and documenting pertinent clinical and diagnostic information. • Works closely with the cardiologist to perform noninvasive and/or invasive cardiology and/or vascular diagnostic sonographic exams, and functions independently in the absence of the supervisor and/or manager. • Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary to quality care. • Delivers appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures. • Complies with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality. • Adheres to Orlando Health mission statements and commitment to excellence standards. • Assesses the patient’s physical condition and age specific needs. Other Related Functions • Assist in transporting of patients. • Follows established standards of practice for image processing and interpretation. • Assists in clerical duties, such as, but not limited to, printing reports, scanning documents, and scheduling of patients. • Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment. • Maintains well stocked and organized work areas. • May be required to work at any Orlando Health facility. • Assists with other departmental duties and responsibilities as needed. Qualifications Licensure/Certification • Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification. • Must maintain one of the following: • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in fetal echocardiography; or • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS); or • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Advanced Cardiac Sonographer (ACS) or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI); or • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS); or • Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
