About the Department
As an Education Administration Specialist with the Department of Education, you will help advance the statewide Summer Food Service Program. Your work will support sponsors, improve training, and guide program activities that benefit thousands of children. Position Duties
This position supports the administration of the Summer Food Service Program by reviewing guidance, assisting sponsors, and strengthening program operations. Work involves ensuring compliance, improving outreach, and maintaining effective program tools. As an Education Administration Specialist, you will perform the following duties:
- Guidance Review: Evaluate federal and state requirements and assist in developing program guidance for sponsors
- Training Support: Create and update training materials and conduct sessions for sponsors and program staff
- Sponsor Assistance: Respond to questions, review applications, and support new and returning sponsors with onboarding
- Program Monitoring: Conduct onsite visits and assist with administrative reviews to ensure compliance with regulations
- Data Management: Compile participation information, analyze program data, and assist in preparing required reports
- Outreach Development: Plan and carry out outreach activities to expand participation and reach underserved areas

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. You will be required to report to the worksite on Thursday each week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

Minimum Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as an Education Administration Associate (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of professional experience in education including at least two years in educational administration; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
