Office of Federal Support & Grantee Relations
Job Focus Areas:
The Education Consultant 3 is located in the Division of Federal Support & Grantee Relations. The primary role of this Education Consultant 3 is to serve as a subject matter expert for Title IV-Part B - 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) and Title I, Part A. The successful candidate will be a leader that has the ability to be flexible, multitask, work with many personalities, and support a team culture.
Candidates with the following skills are encouraged to apply:
Knowledge of federal statute
Experience with high level engagement of external stakeholders
Experience and knowledge of afterschool quality.
Position Duties
Seven years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience plus four years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR
A bachelor's degree plus four years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR
An advanced degree plus three years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services.

Job Duties:
A typical day for the Education Consultant 3 will include the following:
- Provide support to the Education Supervisor and Executive Director of Federal Programs daily;
- Provide support to the external programs assigned daily;
- Attend all internal and external meetings that pertain to work in the Division;
- Ensures programmatic and budget alignment for assigned programs;
- Oversees and maintains strict confidentiality of documents and records and verbal and written communication;
- Coordinates and organizes projects, most without direction, and prepares materials such as agendas, timelines, reports and presentations;
- Develops timelines, prepares work plans and sets agendas sometimes without review;
- Works independently on special projects and other duties as assigned by the Education Supervisor and Executive Director of Federal Programs; and
- Completes all other duties or special projects requested by Division leadership.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment. Current permanent classified state employees may be required to accept a probationary appointment, if selected.
Career Progression: This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group.
Work Schedule: Work days are Monday - Friday; work hours will be determined.
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
**Note regarding the advertised pay range: The Education Consultant 3 series has a special entrance rate (SER) of $28.96 hourly, $2,317.20 biweekly that is above the minimum hire rate for these positions. The maximum amounts listed are the maximum salary amounts a person can make over their career and not the maximum amount we are allowed to pay a new hire.
