Astrion has an exciting opportunity for an experienced DoW Electrical Engineer Senior to join our team supporting the efforts of the US Air Force ISR/SOF organizations located onsite at Robins AFB in Georgia.

 

Overall Scope:  Qualified candidates possess advanced knowledge, experience, and are recognized as highly skilled in their technical / professional field. Candidates must perform tasks and oversee the performance of junior personnel. Demonstrate advanced knowledge of their technical / professional discipline as well as possess a comprehensive understanding and ability to apply associated standards, procedures and practices in their area of expertise.

 

 

 

Provide electrical engineering support for programs and projects, to include support for all system engineering research, design, development, installation, testing, and operation aspects of the systems under the responsibility of the IPT.  The candidate must be able to effectively apply practical engineering knowledge of a wide range of established system engineering principles, concepts and methods, ensure Operational Safety, Suitability, and Effectiveness (OSS&E) is considered in all activities.LP1

  • Provide system engineering review and analysis of assigned systems throughout the conceptual, demonstration and validation, engineering, manufacturing development, production and development and operations and support phase.
  • Develop and/or originate new features in addition to improving, extending, or validating currently known percents, data, methods, or techniques.
  • Assist in translating DoW user requirements into system requirements, which are used to design, develop, fabricate, test, and evaluate systems, subsystems, and equipment
  • Review overall system design baseline (architecture and interoperability) requirements.
  • Assist in the development of system specifications and system architecture artifacts.
  • Perform independent analysis of proposed engineering changes, specifications and provide evaluation and recommendations on the acceptability.
  • Support life cycle cost evaluations on proposed systems and components.
  • Assist with T&E support including planning, monitoring, status, data analysis/review, reporting, execution and evaluation of test results against operational requirements to include participating in ITTs, TRRs, and other related system or program events.
  • Assist in scheduling and securing required test resources.
  • Assist in designing, planning, execution, analysis, reporting, and documentation during any phase of test and evaluation programs
  • Support the development of system and program’s technical plans to include the review of technical documents, participation on program or system Working Groups
  • Support of special studies to define alternative approaches

 

 

Required Qualifications / Skills:

  • Education:  Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
  • Experience:  12 yrs relevant experience in DoW environment with an ABET certified Electrical Engineer degree; or 5 yrs experience with a Master's degree and DoW relevant experience 
  • Clearance: Active SECRET; US citizenship required in this instance.

Must:

  • Poses an active SECRET clearance
  • Requires an Electrical Engineering degree from an ABET accredited program.
  • Must possess ability to accurately convey information both in written and verbal format
  • Must be willing to travel within organizations direct area of responsibility
  • Must be willing to adapt to contingency schedule if required by unit in unusual cases of emergency or critical mission support need
