About this role

This position is responsible for working closely with the assigned product engineering team on assigned projects to enhance industry knowledge and career progression. The ideal candidate must be proficient in the use of a PC and Microsoft Office Suite. This position will be expected to possess basic knowledge of engineering software and be able to learn new systems and processes quickly. The intern will support a wide range of engineering tasks and disciplines spanning the entire product life cycle from research and development, modeling and simulation, detailed design, prototype, and verification of product requirements in a test lab environment.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: Enrolled in an accredited institution and actively working toward a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Experience: Hands on college programs or related work experience related to the field of study or electrical products.
  • Travel: 5-10%
  • Work Schedule: This position works between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday- Friday. Works a sufficient schedule to meet the expectations of the role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists with performing detailed calculations to compute and establish engineering standards and specifications.
  • Assist with preparing and studying technical drawings, as well as electrical specifications, to ensure that designs conform to industry standards and product requirements.
  • Participate in research and development activities including front research as well as modeling and simulation
  • Support lab testing activities as required of both research projects and product development efforts
  • Operates computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal and external customers, and outside resources concerning technical issues.
  • Collaborate effectively with other engineers, production staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
